American Actor Chadwick Boseman, our beloved hero Black Panther, who also played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown passed away this Friday from colon cancer, at the age of 43.

Apparently, Boseman died at his home, in Los Angeles, surrounded by his loved ones, after battling the disease for 4 years. Despite countless surgeries and chemotherapy, he had never spoken publicly about his diagnosis, and kept persevering through it all, bringing to life many movies characters that we all love.

"This is a crushing blow" — Jordan Peele

"This broke me," — Issa Rae

“Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, per reports. During that time, he gave us Civil War, Marshall, Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods. Lord only knows what he was going through on a daily basis.” — Jemele Hill

Born in South Carolina, Boseman graduated from Howard University and had small roles in television before his first star turn in 2013. His striking portrayal of the stoic baseball star Robinson opposite Harrison Ford in 2013's 42 drew attention in Hollywood.
